Pro Spec read all 900 pages of the Omega Tower project specifications: 78 specification sections across eight divisions. Start with the curtain wall. Section 08 44 13 §1.05 requires a performance mockup of the curtain wall, at least two stories high and three lites wide, built for laboratory testing before fabrication. Section 01 40 00 §1.05.B assigns preconstruction testing, and the mockup it is performed on, to the Contractor. After that: door hardware specified at 24 volts where the panel schedule supplies 12, curtain wall engineering the spec makes your responsibility without naming an engineer, and a 20-year warranty that two sections describe differently.
